<br />Floodplain Resolution NO. ~~ <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 state centennail Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Den~er, colorado 80203 <br /> <br />September 23,1977 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "'Flood <br />Insurance Study, Town of Rangely, " which includes the White River <br />and Dragoon Wash, dated December, 1977, has been prepared by the <br />united states Army corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, under <br />contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm ahd floodwater runoff ,channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Rangely has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bOdies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulation for land uses on or along <br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designa- <br />tion and appro~al by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions; and <br /> <br />"WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report <br />and has recommended'to theC6lorado'Water-Conservation Board_that <br />the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as des- <br />cribed by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br />
