INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT CONCERNING GREAT WESTERN RESERVOIR

Dear Larry:

Please find a'lclosed a copy of the fully executed agreeJrent between the
City of Westminster, the City of Broomfield am the Urban Drainage and Flocd
Control District which addresses the continued exista'lce of the Great western
Reservoir. As you will recall the Flood Hazard Area Delineation Study for the
Big Dry Creek and its tributaries, which was adopted by UDFCD in 1986, was based
on the assurrption that the Great Western Reservoir would remain in existe~e. At
the request of the Board of Directors of the UDFCD as well as the Colorado Water
Conservation Board, the City of Westminster has executed an agreement with both
Broanfield and Urban Drainage in order to assure all entities concerned that
Great Western Reservoir will remain in existence.

The Colorado Water Conservation Board had mad: the ellecution of this
agreement a contingency as well as the execution of an agreeJrent concerniIB
continued exista'lce of Starrlley Lake in the approval of their January 23, 1987,
Resolutioo adopting the Flood Hazard Area Delineation Maps for the Big Dry Creek,
et al. The City of Westminster and Urban Drainage have executed the Starrliey-
Lake Agreement and a copy of that was forwarded to you on May 5, 1987. wi th the
receipt of the Great Western Reservoir Agreement I believe that all of the con-
tingencies outlined by the Colorado Water Conservation Board will have been Jret.

I would appreciate it if you would bring this to the attention of Mr.
MacDonald 50 that he may take whatever steps are necessary to formally and final-
ly complete the process of adopting the aforementioned resolution. I would also
appreciate if you could let me knCM as 5000 as the resolution is formalized arrl
provide a copy of the final document for our files. If you should have any
