9'1-'1'1"L February 25, 1999 RECEIVED FEB 2 6 1999 Colorado Water conserva1ianBoard Mr. Larry Lang Chief, Flood Control and Floodplain Management Section Colorado Water Conservation Board 1313 Sherman Street, Room 721 Denver, CO 80203 Dear Mr. Lang; In accordance with Section 37-60-106 (1 )(c) C.R.S., as amended, the Town of Dillon is requesting that the Colorado Water Conservation Board consider the designation and approval of flood hazard areas within the town's corporate limits, as depicted in the Flood Hazard Boundary, Map, Town of Dillon, Colorado, Summit County, dated August 8, 1975. It is possible that there may be flood hazards within the town that are consistent with some of the information shown on that map. The Flood Hazard Boundary Map contains approximate floodplain information for Dillon Reservoir and Straight Creek within Dillon, which mayor may not be representative of flood hazards in Dillon. We request that CWCB staff review the Flood Hazard Boundary Map for possible designation and approval at the CWCB's regular meeting scheduled for March 29 - 30, 1999. We would like for CWeB staff to review in the field and discuss with town officials the information shown on the Flood Hazard Boundary Map. Subject to the findings of those discussions and to any revisions to the map that are deemed necessary, we request that the approximate floodplain information contained in the Flood Hazard Boundary Map be designated by the Colorado Water Conservation Board.
