Their efforts and involvement have supported the many tasks associated with this study.
Although not all of the supporters can be acknowledged, recognition of several of the more
involved organizations and individuals is appropriate.

Larry Lang, Project Manager, and Joe Busto from the Colorado Water Conservation
Board provided leadership and insight though out the project. Their proactive involvement and
coordination with interested individuals and organizations kept the project focused. Other
sponsoring organizations provided much support; Marie McKenzie from Arapahoe County,
Kevin Wegner from Aurora, Brooke Fox from Douglas County and Doug Morris from
Greenwood Village. A special note of appreciation goes to Don Morrison, past councilman for
Greenwood Village, for initially expressing concern and then initiating efforts to provide
additional analyses of PMP issues for the Cherry Creek basin. Others who contributed to interim
reviews of the project include Jack Byers and Alan Pearson of the Division of Water Resources
representing the State Engineer Office on dam safety issues and Ben Urbonas of the Urban
Drainage and Flood Control District.

The members of the Technical Review Panel provided constructive comments throughout
the project and especially thorough reviews of interim reports. The three-member panel
membership consisted of Lou Schreiner of the Bureau of Reclamation, Nolan Doesken of the
Colorado Climate Center at Colorado State University, and Gary Lewis of Parsons Engineering
Science. The technical expertise of the panel members was extremely helpful throughout the
project. The Project Advisory Committee contributed useful comments and suggestions at
review meetings as well as other times during the study. The membership is listed in Appendix
C. The involvement of Bill Miller of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and GeoffBonnin of the
National Weather Service contributed to the focus and technical completeness of the study.

The contract between Applied Weather Associates, LLC and the Colorado Water
Conservation Board addressed the intent of the State of Colorado Senate Joint Resolution 99-
023. Applied Weather Associates, LLC has completed an independent peer review of the
Federal National Weather Service Probable Maximum Precipitation study used by the United
States Army Corps of Engineers in their redesign study relating to the Cherry Creek dam, In
addition, Applied Weather Associates, LLC completed an independent site-specific PMP study
for the Cherry Creek watershed,

The project was performed and completed in response to the requests of the cities of
Aurora and Greenwood Village, and the counties of Arapahoe and Douglas, Colorado; Colorado
Water Conservation Board; and Colorado General Assembly Senate Joint Resolution 99-023.

Xl
