As a result of the flood damage modeling that was <br />performed for the previous study, the number and value of the structures within Pipestone <br />affected by up to the 500-year flood was available, Table 3 presents the cost estimate for <br />acquisition of commercial and residential structures wilhin the lOO-year floodplain, For <br />informational purposes, the acquisition costs for structun:s within the 10-year and 50-year <br />floodplains are also shown in table 3, The total value of each structure includes the <br />structure'smarket value plus an assumed appurtenance value. The assumed appurtenance values <br />are 25 percent and 0 percent of the structure value for residential and commercial properties, <br />respectively. The total acquisition cost for properties within the 100-year floodplain was <br />estimated to be $1,900,000, Relocation assistance costs, such as moving expenses, were not <br />developed for this study, Relocation assistance costs should be considered during final analysis <br />if this alternative is further investigated, <br /> <br />14 <br />
