Wildfire Mitigation.

To help residents prepare for the upcoming wildfire season, Jefferson County has updated its wildfire
hotline with news about prevention, fire restrictions and other topics.

"The hotline is another way for residents to get the information they need at the time they need it,"
said Emergency Management Director Judy Peratt. "Our residents are partners in the fight against
wildfire, and the hotline anus them with facts they need to have."

By dialing [phone], residents can access information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The
hotline offers details about:

. Fire restrictions

. Collection sites where residents can drop off tree limbs and other slash

. Fireworks regulations

. Prescribed burns

. Campground contact numbers

. Community meetings about wildfire mitigation

Through the hotline, residents can also schedule group meetings with the county wildfire mitigation
specialist, or have a list of slash collection sites faxed directly to their homes.

Jefferson County developed the hotline in cooperation with the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office,
U.S. Forest Service, Jefferson County Open Space Department, Colorado State Forest Service and
local fire protection districts.
