, ' WHEREAS, a floodplain information report; entitled "Flood
Hazard Area Delineation, Westerly Creek," dated January, 1977, has
been prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. at; the request of Urban
Drainage and Flood Control DiStrict, City and County of Denver, and
City of Aurora; and

WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain
dlilta and informat:l.on for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or
basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Urbain Drainage and Flood Control District has
requested the Colo~ado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973,
requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the pre-
vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and '

WH~REAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
dictions ~y provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
storm Or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and
approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, direct~ t;he Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and
approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such
desigqations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions;
and '

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and
does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the
~oard designate and ap'prove as floodplain areas those areas inundated
by a lOO-yearflood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the
floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; ,

. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser-
vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this
27th day of July, 1977 that it does hereby designate and approve as
floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a 100-
year flood as set forth in said report; and
