<br />Floodplain Resolution No. 70 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER, CONSERVATION BOARD <br />82~ State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street ' <br />Denver, Colorado 8020~ <br /> <br />July 27, 197V <br /> <br />R E ! 0 LU ! ! 0 N <br /> <br />, ' WHEREAS, a floodplain information report; entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Area Delineation, Westerly Creek," dated January, 1977, has <br />been prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. at; the request of Urban <br />Drainage and Flood Control DiStrict, City and County of Denver, and <br />City of Aurora; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />dlilta and informat:l.on for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urbain Drainage and Flood Control District has <br />requested the Colo~ado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the pre- <br />vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and ' <br /> <br />WH~REAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- <br />dictions ~y provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm Or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and <br />approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(l) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, direct~ t;he Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such <br />desigqations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; <br />and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board that the <br />~oard designate and ap'prove as floodplain areas those areas inundated <br />by a lOO-yearflood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the <br />floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; , <br /> <br />. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this <br />27th day of July, 1977 that it does hereby designate and approve as <br />floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a 100- <br />year flood as set forth in said report; and <br />
