S" as amended, the Town of Ault is requesting
that the Colorado Water Conservation Board consider the designation and approval of flood
hazard areas within the town's corporate limits, as depicted in the Flood Hazard Boundary
Map, Town of Ault, Colorado, Weld County, dated May 17, 1974, The Flood Hazard
Boundary Map contains approximate floodplain information for two localized areas on the
eastern side of Ault.

Our initial belief is that there are no areas within the Town of Ault, including the areas shown on
the Flood Hazard Boundary Map, subject to 100-year flooding, It is certainly possible that we
have not experienced a IOO-year event in our town and that some areas are subject to such
flooding, We would like for the accuracy of Flood Hazard Boundary Map to be examined
carefully before the Colorado Water Conservation Board takes any formal action,

We request that CWCB staff review the Flood Hazard Boundary Map for designation and
approval at the CWCB's regular meeting scheduled for September 21 - 22, 1998. We would like
for CWCB staff to discuss with town officials the information shown on the Flood Hazard
Boundary Map and conduct a field examination to confirm whether there truly are any areas
subject to 1 DO-year flooding within our corporate limits. Based on the findings of those
discussions and of that field examination, we request that the approximate floodplain information
contained in the Flood Hazard Boundary Map either be designated as it is now, be designated
after appropriate revisions are made, or be rescinded by the Colorado Water Conservation Board.

Please call Patricia J. Lesh, Town Clerkffreasurer at 970/834-2844 if you have questions about
our request for designation and approval.

Sincerely,

~ I~~r L~h

Patricia J Lesh, Town Clerk/Treasurer

A UniqUe Little Town
