The first Colorado <br />Flood Mitigation plan was organized and developed following the Lawn Lake Flood <br />disaster of 1982. During 1984, 17 counties on the Western Slope suffered mudslides <br />and flooding and a revision to the 1982 plan was completed. In 1993, mountain <br />snowpack was at an all-time high in several drainages, During these period state <br />agencies in concert with local governments completed pre-disaster mitigation projects, <br />which mitigated the effects of the flooding. <br /> <br />Scope: <br />. This 1998 revision to the January 1985 Flood Hazard Mitigation Plan will update <br />flood events historical to present. <br /> <br />. Incorporate the issues and recommendations of the 1997 Interagency Hazard <br />Mitigation Team members that are Intended to help achieve the goal of reducing <br />future flood events. <br /> <br />. Review all flood mitigation plans completed at the private, local, state federal levels <br />and incorporate appropriate items into the 1998 Flood Hazard Mitigation plan. <br /> <br />Mitigation Plan Outline: <br />1. Preliminaries <br />2. Introduction <br />3. Hazard Identification and Evaluation <br />4. Capability Assessment <br />5. Proposed Mitigation Activities <br />6. Plan Implementation and Maintenance <br /> <br />Mitigation Plan Checklist for Consultant <br /> <br />1. Has the State Mitigation Plan been approved? If yes, place the date of approval <br />in the comment field (206.403, 206.405). <br /> <br />2. Does the State Mitigation Plan have approval dates other than the original? If <br />yes, place the latest approval date in the comment field (206.405 (a) (4)). <br /> <br />3. Was the plan required to be updated as a condition of the previoLls declaration? <br />If yes, place the due date for the update in the comments field (206.403 (1,)(2), <br />206.405(d)). <br /> <br />1 <br />
