" <br /> <br />Project # <br /> <br />flIEr -",'#:D <br /> <br />DEe 0 j 1997 <br />Coco/orado 111_ <br />IlSet\labtlloal! <br /> <br />Department or Agency Number <br />PDA <br /> <br />Contract Routing Number <br />o lO:.{L <br /> <br />CONTRACT AMENDMENT <br /> <br /># <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />THIS AMENDMENT, made this 26th day of November, in the year 1997 , by and between the State of <br />Colorado for the use and benefit of the Department of Natural Resources hereinafter referred to as the <br />State, and McLauchlin Water Enc/neers Ltd. hereinafter referred to as the Contractor, <br /> <br />FACTUAL RECITALS <br /> <br />Authority exists in the Law and Funds have been budgeted, appropriated, and otherwise made available <br />and a sufficient unencumbered balance thereof remains available for ~ayment in Fund Number <br />Appropriation Code , Contract Encumbrance Number C r ~..~(-;()q , and <br /> <br />Required approval, clearance, and coordination has been accomplished from and with appropriate <br />agencies; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) has contracted with McLaughlin Water <br />Engineers Ltd. through Contract No. 153809 to perform a "needs assessment" for statewide river <br />rehabilitation and floodplain management; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, an objective of the "needs assessment" is to evaluate a wide range of alternatives for <br />lessening flood risks and their economic impact; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, revising the State of Colorado's existing Hazard Mitigation Plan (409 Plan) will contribute <br />significantly to the accomplishment of this evaluation; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the revised 409 Plan will assist in providing a multi-objective management program that <br />addresses flood hazard mitigation measures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, McLaughlin Water Engineers Ltd. has the needed professional expertise to complete the <br />revisions to the State's 409 Plan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, undertaking the State's formal selection process would not allow for the revisions to the 409 <br />Plan to be accomplished by the February 1, 1998 deadline. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, ~ is hereby agreed that <br /> <br />1.
