GLENDO DAM REGULATION

a. General.. Glendo Dwn wa<l constructed. by the Bureau of
Reclamation and storage began in 1956. The project is located
in eastern Wyoming at North :Platte River Mile 291. It is 29
river miles upstream from GU\!rnsey Dam and 151 miles downstream
from Alcova Dam. '['he storag\! capa.city is '795,196 acre-feet, of
which 271,889 acre,..feet is authorized flood-control space. As
prescribed by law, flood-control regulations for Glendo Dam
were published in the Federal Rel,ister on 6 April 1971. The
Corps of Engineers issues Gl\!ndo regulation orders to the Bureau
of Reclamation when the reservoir level is in the flood-control
zone. The flood-control zone is between elevations 4635 feet
and 4653 feet m. s.1.

b. Glendo inflow averaged 1,,000 to 2,000 cubic feet per
second during the 'rlnter of 1972-73. Most of this inflow came
from releases from the upper reservoir system. Glendo inflow

35
