2. A detailed hydrology study should be completed for the local

drainage systems, including the ca'Icu1ation of the 2-year fre-

quency flow at several locations wHhin the development and

at all locations where flows are released from the site. The

Rational Method is the recommendE,d procedure for small urban

basins.

3. Detailed hydraulic facilities should be provided to collect.
off-site drainage and convey these flows across the property.

Street capaciti es s houl d be ca 1 cu'! a ted and compared with the

2-year discharge. Storm sewers should be 'inc1 uded in locations

where street capacity is exceeded, and should be properly sized.

Criteria used for hydraulic analyses should be consistent with

that recommended in the Urban Stol'm Drainage Criteria Manual,

(Reference 12) prepared for the Denver Urban Drainage and Flood

Control District. At locations of f"low re1 ease from the pro-

perty, a means of conveying these fl DWS to an outfall system

should be provided. Streets and stol'm sewers used for this

purpose shoul d be analyzed to determ'ine that adequate capacity

exists. In addition, the flow route of discharges exceeding

the drainage system capacity should be determined. Plans should

be adjusted to avoid or minimize the damage created by such

overflows.

In newly developed areas where a major drainageway crosses
through a development tract, these drainage channels and

facil iti es for proposed roadway cross ings of the channel s,

should be designed for 100-year frequency storm.

____,-Botfl tl1e-i:ity-ur-1'1rlnfr6se" al'idMolTtr'o'S,e(1)tlnty---pa rt icij3atE; ,t 11"
/\
u"Ithe-Federal./t'nsurtmce- Adm; nistr'ati on's National Flood I nsur',

_~e Pr()gr~m,_and ]OO_.I'ea.rc~p1anning isconsisten;t with theil'
'.,--_.
