<br />procedure was repeated at each inadequate crossing until the flow left in <br />the channel ha d been reduced to the point where it cOl.ll d be handl ed by the <br />remaining crossings. Then, using these reduced channel flows, flood eleva-- <br />tions were determined from the rating curves at each crossinq structure. <br />Between crossings the elevations were interpolated based on channel rating <br />data. This procedure yields flood profiles that ref"lect ex-isting condi- <br />tions within an accuracy of about 0.5 feet. This level of accuracy is <br />within the tol erances all owabl e for damage ca 1 cu-Iations. <br />The area. inundated by the flows leavinq the channel were determined <br />in the field utilizing street flow capacities, f-leld surveys and existing <br />topographic maps, (Reference 5). <br />The resulting floodplains and flood profiles are presented on Sheets 1 <br />through 10. <br /> <br />- 20 - <br />
