A church had a great <br />deal of mud and debris to clean around its building, the yards bordering the D & <br />RGW tracks were covered in the South Park subdivision. Mud was coating <br />sidewalks and streets in a large portion of the town. Being red, the clean-up <br />necessitated a great deal of washing to remove all traces of it. These damage <br />costs were all recorded from individual property owners. <br />Garfield County provided one loader and 2-5 yd. dump trucks for clean-up. <br />The State used a tractor loader and 2 dump trucks cleaning driveway <br />entrances south of 23rd Street on Glen Avenue on the east side, <br />The State Highway Department had crews cleaning streets, drains, culverts, <br />barrow ditches along Highway 82 but do not have costs available for 1977, <br />The railroad had men cleaning along their tracks, and Mountain Bell worked <br />several days pumping vaults where their lines were on Grand Avenue. <br />City records, while not complete, show numerous costs as the aftermath of <br />30 minutes of heavy rain July 24, 1977. <br />The electric department had to disconnect two services at a cost of $65, <br />plus have crews standing by in case of downed lines, for $100 in overtime, <br />Public Works Department records list the following hours of clean-up: <br />800 block of Palmer, loose rock 2 hours <br />9th & Palmer to Lincoln, loose rock 1 hour <br />Minter between 8th & 9th 1 hour <br />Church of Christ, 9th & Bennett, mud in yard and <br />
