Assistance: Direct Federal assistance for the emergency repair or <br />rehabilitation of flood control works damaged by flood and the <br />restoration of Federally authorized coastal protection structures <br />damaged by eKtraordinary wind. wave. or water action. Assistance <br />does not include major improvements or.betterments to flood control <br />or Federally authorized coastal protection structures. or reimburse- <br />ment Of individuals or communities for funds eKpended in-repair or <br />rehabilitation efforts. <br /> <br />c. Eligible Ap~'ieants: Owners of damaged protective works or State <br />and local 0 ficials of public entities responsible for their <br />~intenanee. repafr and operatfon. . <br /> <br />6. EHERGENCY WATERSHED PROTECTION <br />I. ~: U. S. Department of Agriculture/Soil Conservation Service <br /> <br /> <br />b. Assistance: Financial and technical assistance to eliminate an <br />imminent threat to life Ind improved property caused by a .sudden <br />impairment. of 1 watershed due to a natural disaster. EKamples <br />of potentially eligible work include silt removal from a stream. <br />Ind emergency stream bank protection. <br /> <br />c.
