<br />C . . <br />,. 0 <br />P <br />Y <br /> TOWNS AND CITIES <br /> Flood Control - Planning and Zoning <br /> <br />HOUSE BILL NO. 1007 <br /> <br />AN ACT <br /> <br />PROVIDING FOR FLOOD PREVENTION AND CONTROL IN CITY, TOWN, <br />COUNTY, AND REGIONAL PLANNING AND ZONING. <br /> <br />Be it Enacted Qy the General Assemblv of ~ State of <br />Colorado: <br /> <br />section 1. 139-59-7, Colorado Revised Statutes 1963, <br />is hereby amended to read: <br /> <br />139-59-7. - Purposes in ~. - In the preparation of <br />such plan the commission shall make careful and compre- <br />hensive surveys and studies of present conditions and <br />future growth of the municipality and with due regard to <br />its relation to neighboring territory. The plan shall be <br />made with the general purpose of guiding and accomplishing <br />a coordinated, adjusted, and harmonious development of the <br />municipality and its environs, which will, in accordance <br />with present and future needs, best promote health, safety, <br />morals, order, convenience, prosperity, and general welfare, <br />as well as efficiency and economy in the process of develop- <br />ment, including among other things, adequate provision for <br />traffic, the promotion of safety from fire, FLOOD WATERS, <br />and other dangers, adequate provision for light and air, <br />the promotion of healthful and convenient distribution of <br />population, the promotion of good civic design and arrange- <br />ment, wise and efficient expenditure of public funds, and <br />the adequate provision of public utilities and other public <br />requirements. <br /> <br />Section 2. 139-60-1, Colorado Revised Statutes 1963, <br />is hereby amended to read: <br /> <br />139-60-1. - Grant of power. - (1) For the purpose of <br />promoting health, safety, morals, or the general welfare <br />of the community, the legislative body of each city and <br /> <br />Capital letters indicate new material added to existing <br />statutes; dashes through words indicate deletions from <br />existing statutes and such material not part of act. <br />
