S. Army Corps'of Engineers, Omaha District, <br />completed a floodplain information report entitled "Special Flood <br />Hazard Report, Volume II, Metropolitan Region, Denver, Colorado," <br />dated July, 1971, which included Cherry Creek; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested <br />by the Denver Regional Council of Governments, by ,resolution adopted' <br />March 8, 1972, approved and designated the floodplains described in <br />said Volume II; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Area Delineation, Cherry Creek," dated July; 1976,has been <br />prepared by Merrick and Company at the request of the Urban Drainage <br />and Flood Control District, the City and County of Denver, the City of <br />Glendale and Arapahoe County; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />I data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and <br />requested the Colorado Water Conservation <br />approve the floodplain areas as set forth <br /> <br />Flood Control District has <br />Board to designate and <br />in the aforesaid report; and <br />~. ~ <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in t~e pre- <br />vention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- ' <br />dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and <br />approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(l)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to design<9..!=.~_-E):J.sL___ ," <br />approve storm or f199_dwa_ter-runof,f-channels-or-basins- and-E6- make such <br />----designat:icfns-avaiI.ible to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed the revised and <br />
