A. Miller
P. O. Box 301
Evergreen, Colorado

Dear Sir:

We are sending to you with our compliments one copy of a Ph. D.
dissertation entitled, "Design Hydrographs For Very Small Wate rsheds. tI
This study was recently completed by Mr. Brian Reich under a grant from
the United States Hydrograph Laboratory, Agricultural Research Service.

When used with the new Rainfall Frequency Atlas of the United States,
this dissertation presents a new and simpler way of obtaining a complete
design hydrograph for rainstorms on wate rsheds from O. ,5 to 4. 0 square
miles in size.

Extensive use of an IBM 16,0 computer was made in the analysis of
these data. We are anxious to continue this work on a larger sample and on
watersheds up to ZOO square miles in size. We would like to ask for your
help and cooperation in sending us copies of any flood hydrographs and storm
hyetographs of greater than O. I inch runoff volume. The programs developed
under this project will be used to continue the analysis of these new hydrographs
which we hope that you might be able to help us obtain. We are particularly
interested in hydrographs which might not normally be published in the
ordinary course of events.

Sincerely yours.

~ giL~

E. F.
