Box 471
Boulder, Colorado 80306

Community: Boulder County, Colorado
Community No,: 080023
Panels Affected: 08013C0269 F and 0270 F
Effective Date of
This Revision:
JUN 1 91995

102-I-A-C

Dear Mr. Page:

This is in response to a request for a revision to the effective Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and National
Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) map for your community. Specifically, this responds to a letter dated
May 8, 1995, from Ms. Teresa Rae Lineback, P.E., Senior Project Engineer, Hurst & Associates, Inc.,
regarding the effective FIS report and Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for Boulder County, Colorado
and Incorporated Areas. Ms. Lineback requested that we revise the effective FIRM to show the effects
of channel improvements from just downstream of a private road to approximately 1,450 feet downstream
of Airport Road and the construction of four 12-foot by 8-foot box culverts at Airport Road along Dry
Creek No.1. This request follows up on a Conditional Letter of Map Revision, which was issued on
April 28, 1993, The south side of Dry Creek No. I, from approximately 900 feet downstream of Airport
Road to Schlagel Road, has been annexed by the City of Longmont.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with Ms, Lineback's letters dated
April 7 and May 8, 1995. All fees necessary to process this Letter of Map Revision (LOMR), a total of
$1,810, have been received.

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM,
and have revised the FIRM to modify the floodplain boundary delineations of a flood having a I-percent
probability of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along Dry Creek No. I, from just
downstream to approximately 1,800 feet downstream of the private road and from approximately 900 feet
downstream of Airport Road to approximately 1,450 feet downstream of Airport Road. As a result of
this project, the base flood elevations (BFEs) decreased from approximately 1,500 feet downstream to
approximately 1,800 feet downstream of the private road, The maximum decrease, I foot, occurred
approximately 1,800 feet downstream of the private road. As a result of this project, the Special Flood
Hazard Area (SFHA) decreased along the south bank of the stream reach from just downstream to
approximately 1,800 feet downstream of the private road, but increased along the north bank of Dry
Creek No. I. The increase occurred from approximately 350 feet to approximately 850 feet downstream
ofthe private road. The maximum increase, 80 feet, occurred approximately 600 feet downstream of the
private road. The SFHA decreased along the stream reach from approximately 900 feet downstream of
