"

.

.

\) ,
?J~

Dr. John Liou
March 28, 1983
Page two

without overtopping or failure. There has also been a problem of
structures being plugged with sand. We feel the seriousness of
these problems and the degree of difference between flows for
these two basins and flows for all other basins in the study area
warrant a review of hydrologic calculations.

The other area of concern is hydraulic engineering. Aside
from the obvious need to revise hydraulic calculations and
floodplain delineations for dry basins where flood flows are
revised, we have reviewed all profiles and maps and noted on them
any concerns. These concerns have been discussed with your
consultant, and he is in the process of reviewing them carefully
and making changes as appropriate. The concerns were not major
ones, and we feel your consultant will address them
sat isfactor ily.

I hope these comments are useful to you.
