In each basin the 100-year discharge was deter-
mined for both future and existing development conditions. The
method used by the Soil Conservation Service, "Procedure for Deter-
ming Peak Flows in Colorado," was used for calculating the 100-year
discharge. All available existing reports were reviewed by COM and
all applicable information was used. Below is a description of
procedures used for each basin.

Mesa Basin

Douglas Basin - Basin characterisitics, i.e. area, sub-basin, etc.,
were obtained from the March, 1981 Leigh Whitehead
Inc., Drainage Basin Study. The 100-year discharge
for future development conditions at selected
hydrologic points was calculated in this report.
The discharge for existing development conditions was
determined by COM after a field check of the area
in July of 1981. The curve numbers were re-evaluated
and the 100-year discharge was calculated at each
selected hydrologic point.

- Sub-basin delineation and characteristics were ob-
tained from the 1976"Mesa Basin Drainage Study,"
by Parker and Associates. The 100-year discharge
in the 1975 report was computed only for each sub-
basin and not at downstream hydrologic points.
COM therefore determined the 100-year discharge for
future development conditions at selected points
using the curve numbers presented in the 1975 report.
The 100-year discharge, using existing development
conditions, was then determined by COM by re-calcula-
ting the curve numbers for sub-basins that were not
yet developed.
