Rifle Creek basin, <br /> <br />I . <br />above the canyon mou'vh at Gra.r.d Hogback ridge, resembles a sub-alpine ....\$ l'" I <br /> <br />Vegetation is mostly aspen with a few conifer~and a fair grass cover. <br /> <br />Elevations range from 5800 feet at the canyon mouth at Grand Hogback <br /> <br />Bureau of Reclamation. The two largest flood peaks during the stations <br /> <br />rt:cord were estimated from high water marks to be 1720 c.f.s. and <br /> <br />1500 c.f.~. in August 1963 and July 1951 respectively. Rifle Gap <br />Reservoir has a capacity of 13,600 acre-feet at spillway crest. <br /> <br />The dwn is a 220 foot high rockfill structure with an,ungated concrete <br /> <br />lined spillWay approximately 30 feet wide and 24 feet high.
