Between Saulsbury and Teller Streets, the existing

open channel must be lowered to meet the previously described

box and to reduce velocities.

Gabion or concre~e-lined channel

sideslopes are recommended on a 2:l slope.

Triple 5'xlO' box

culverts under Saulsbury Street are required to meet the grade

of the existing concrete lined channel between Pierce and Sauls-

bury Streets.

The boxes would convey the lO-year flood without

allowing overtopping of the street.

The existing channel and pond west of Pierce Street may remain

unchanged.

Four parallel 4'x6' box culverts are required under

Pierce Street to convey the lO-year flood and yet to maintain

the present water surface elevation of the existing pond. The

existing 36-inch pipe downstream from the pond would remain in

service.

East of Pierce Street a grass lined open channel, as illustrated,

is planned.

The proposed maintenance access roadway would also

serve as a hiker-biker trail.

I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
