Flows smaller than lO-year floods would be carried through <br />the park without storage. Larger flows would spillover the em- <br />bankment between the channel and the pond. The reduction in <br />peak flows accomplished by this conceptual design are shown. <br />Maintenance access would be provided by a roadway which would <br />serve also as a hiker-biker trail. The pond would be compatible <br />with present plans for a park on the site. <br /> <br />The lO-year flow would be carried underground in 90-inch and l02- <br /> <br /> <br />inch pipe, thus eliminating the frequent flooding experienced by <br /> <br /> <br />area residents. The proposed conduit would be laid in the exis- <br /> <br /> <br />ting open drainage ditch and the ground surface would be regraded. <br /> <br /> <br />A new sanitary sewer would be required from Brentwood Street <br /> <br /> <br />eastward to collect sewage which presently flows to the sewer <br /> <br /> <br />lines in l3th Ave., but which would be blocked by construction <br /> <br /> <br />of the 90-inch pipe. Construction adjacent to several existing <br /> <br /> <br />structures will require shoring. Maintenance access is available <br /> <br /> <br />from l3th Avenue. The peak flow rate reaching the pond in a lOO- <br /> <br /> <br />year flood would be reduced, but would exceed the capacity of the <br /> <br /> <br />storm sewer and would flow partly as overland flow through the <br /> <br /> <br />residential area. Floodproofing of the homes should be considered <br /> <br /> <br />by the residents. <br /> <br />Construction Sub-total <br />15% Engineering <br />10% Contingencies <br />Total Construction <br /> <br />LAND ACQUISITION <br />Right-af-way AcquiSition <br /> <br />Land Acquisition Sub-total <br />10% Contingencies <br />5% Legal <br />Total Land Acquisition <br /> <br />TOTAL COST <br /> <br />Sheet 8 Costs in Each Reach <br />Reach B <br />Reach C <br />Reach D <br /> <br />Quantity <br /> <br />1,400 <br />470 <br />330 <br />1,130 <br />1I0 <br />8 <br />27 <br />760 <br />340 <br />1 <br />120 <br />40 <br />20,700 <br />105 <br />760 <br />2 <br />1 <br />80 <br /> <br />Total Canst. <br />$ 43,000 <br />$ 724,625 <br />$ 200,788 <br /> <br />Unit <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />Ea. <br /> <br /> <br />Ea. <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />L.S. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />C.Y. <br /> <br />C.Y. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br /> <br />Ea. <br /> <br />L.S. <br /> <br /> <br />L.F. <br /> <br />4.9 <br />1.8 <br /> <br />A <br />A <br /> <br />Unit Price <br /> <br />$ 270 <br />320 <br />20 <br />24 <br />26 <br />1,000 <br />1,000 <br />30 <br />18 <br />10,000 <br />100 <br />71 <br />3 <br />210 <br />14 <br />5,000 <br />15,000 <br />15 <br /> <br />25,000 <br />15,000 <br /> <br />Land Acquisition <br />$ 2,875 <br />$ 31,050 <br />$138,000 <br /> <br />$ 378,000 <br /> <br /> <br />150,400 <br /> <br /> <br />6,600 <br /> <br /> <br />27,120 <br /> <br /> <br />2,860 <br /> <br /> <br />8,000 <br /> <br /> <br />27,000 <br /> <br /> <br />22,800 <br /> <br />6,120 <br /> <br /> <br />10,000 <br /> <br /> <br />12,000 <br /> <br /> <br />2,840 <br /> <br /> <br />62,100 <br /> <br /> <br />22,050 <br /> <br /> <br />10,640 <br /> <br /> <br />10,000 <br /> <br /> <br />15,000 <br /> <br /> <br />1,200 <br /> <br /> <br />$ 774 , 730 <br />1I6,210 <br />77,473 <br />$ 968.413 <br /> <br />122,500 <br />27,000 <br /> <br />$ 149,500 <br />14,950 <br />7,475 <br />$ 171,925 <br /> <br />$1,140.338 <br /> <br />Total <br />$ 45,875 <br />$755,675 <br />$338,788 <br />
