Under present conditions <br /> <br /> <br />a deep pond would occur in a lOO-year storm which would even- <br /> <br /> <br />tually become deep enough to spill northward over Colfax Avenue. <br /> <br /> <br />The 54-inch pipe entering the low area is sized to convey the <br /> <br /> <br />ten-year flow, the 18-inch pipe under Colfax is sized to convey <br /> <br /> <br />the lOO-year flow, in order to reduce the size and depth of the <br /> <br /> <br />ponding area. Between Colfax Avenue and l5th Place, numerous <br /> <br /> <br />inlets are recommended to collect the flow discharged from the <br /> <br /> <br />Westland Shopping Center. The lO-year flow cannot be collected <br /> <br /> <br />entirely by the designated inlets, so future laterals are re- <br /> <br /> <br />quired to collect the flow.
