The flow rates in even the lOO-year flood are small

enough that they could be conveyed easily in a small storm sewer

system or a surface channel. Since the property will likely be

developed for commercial use, it is recommended that no major

drainage system is necessary. The future developer will be re-

quired to adequately drain his property toward Quail Street.

Item Description

CONSTRUCTION
Overflow Spillway at Ditch
Graded Earthen Swale

Construction Sub-total
15% Engineering
10% Contingencies
Total Construction

Quantity Unit Unit Price Cost
1 L.S. $ 5,000 $ 5,000
530 C.Y. 3 1,590
6,590
%9
659
$ 8,238

The only required improvement is a spillway on the Agricultural

Ditch which will discharge excess storm flows into the Dry Gulch

basin rather than allowing the ditch to convey them out of the

basin. For this purpose, a graded channel is proposed to con-

nect the spillway to Quail Street. A permanent right-of-way for

the channel is required, although it is conceivable that a future

developer may elect to place the channel flow in an underground

conduit.

LAND ACQUISITION

Right-of-way Acquisition

10% Contingencies

5% Legal

Total Land Acquisition

TOTAL COST

0.67

A

35,000

23,450
2,345
1,172
$26,967

$35,205
