The proposed

1250
-100- PEAK FLOW RATE
AFTER CONSTRUC-
TION OF RECOM-
MENDED FACILlTIE

facilities provide greatly increased capacities, so the deten-

tion ponding and flow splits are reduced significantly. In

addition, a principal element of the Master Plan is a proposed

1000

uIOO--PEAK FLOW RATE
AT PRESENT

detention storage pond on Dry Gulch west of Carr Street. This

pond serves to substantially reduce downstream flow rates. For

750

these reasons, it was necessary to develop a complete set of

flow rates which would occur after construction of the proposed

improvements of the master plan. These flow rates are also

500

illustrated in Figures III-l and III-2. In addition, typical

flood hydrographs for the Dry Gulch channel are shown in Figure

1II-3.

250

Since the master plan in the majority of the basin recommends

construction of facilities to convey the lO-year flow, a surface

flow will continue to occur during floods which exceed the lO-

year flow. This surface flow will continue to be affected by

the flow splits and detention ponding which would occur under

present channel conditions. Presented below is a summary of the

principal changes in hydrology which are created by the proposed

improvements. The plans of proposed improvements which follow

in this report illustrate the lOO-year flooding limits which

would occur prior to and after construction of the facilities.

The flows to be conveyed by the proposed facilities and the
