All accepted models must meet the requirements set forth in Subparagraph <br />65.6(a)(6) of the National Flood Insurance Program regulations. <br /> <br />Approximate Study-A flood hazard study that results in the delineation of floodplain <br />boundaries for the l-percent-amlUal-chance (IOO-year) flood, but does not include the <br />detennination ofBFEs or flood depths. <br /> <br />Area-The level of spatial measurement referring to a two-dimensional defined space <br /> <br />Area Not Included (ANI)-An area that is excluded from the mapping for a subject <br />community because (I) the area is under the jurisdiction of another community and is shown <br />on the mapping for that community, or (2) access to the area is limited for security reasons <br />(e.g., military installations). <br /> <br />Artwork-The various layers prepared by the cartographic staff that are components of the <br />manually produced Flood Insurance Rate Map and/or Flood Boundary and Floodway Map. <br /> <br />As-Built-A term used to describe mapping and mapping-related data that reflect conditions <br />within a floodplain based on flood-control and other structures being completed. <br /> <br />Assistance Officer (AO) -The FEMA Regional Office staff person that is responsible for <br />the administration of funding and funding-related activities for a specific contract or <br />agreement. <br /> <br />Area of Special Consideration (ASe) -The name given to a special floodprone area <br />around closed-basin lakes. The ASe is an area that is know to be subject to flooding, but the <br />percent chance of the area being flooded in any given year is not defined. <br /> <br />Attribute-The descriptive characteristic or quality of a feature. An attribute value is a <br />measurement assigned to an attribute for a feature instance. <br /> <br />Backwater-Water backed up or retarded in its course as compared with its normal or <br />natural condition of flow. <br /> <br />Base Flood-The flood that has a I-percent chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given <br />year. <br /> <br />Base Flood Elevation (BFE) -The elevation of a flood having a I-percent chance of being <br />equaled or exceeded in any given year. <br /> <br /> <br />TERMS-3 <br /> <br />CTP COnpf'rdtmq <br />Tl'clrfllcal <br />Paltrll""i <br />
