<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Glossary of Terms <br /> <br />The terms listed below will be used throughout this workshop and are found in FEMA's <br />Guidelines and Specifications for Flood Hazard Mopping Partners other FEMA Flood <br />Hazard Mapping Program documents. <br /> <br />O.2-Percent-AnnuaI-Chance Flood-The flood that has a 02-percent chance of being <br />equaled or exceeded in any given year. <br /> <br />I-Percent-Annual-Chance Flood- The flood that has a I-percent chance of being equaled <br />or exceeded in any given year. <br /> <br />2-Percent-Annual-Chance Flood-The flood that has a 2-percent chance of being equaled <br />or exceeded in any given year, <br /> <br />10-Percent-Annual-Chance Flood-The flood that has a IO-percent chance of being <br />equaled or exceeded in any given year, <br /> <br />10-Year Flood-See lO-Percent-Annual-Chance Flood. <br /> <br />SO-Year Flood-See 2-Percent-Annual-Chance Flood. <br /> <br />100- Year Flood-See I-Percent-Annual-Chance Flood. <br /> <br />500- Year Flood-See O.2-Percent-Annual-Chance Flood <br /> <br />Accuracy-The degree of correctness attained in a measurement. <br /> <br />Alluvial Fan-The sedimentary deposit located at a topographic break, such as the base of a <br />mountain front, escarpment, or valley side, that is composed of streamflowand/or debris flow <br />sediments and has the shape of a fan, either fully or partially extended. These characteristics <br />can be categorized by composition, morphology, and location. <br /> <br />Alluvial Fan Flooding-The flooding that occurs on an alluvial fan as defined above.
