PARAMETER ATTRIBUTE CODES FOR DATA QUALITY

The following parameter codes are recommended for application to all DLG entities
in all DLC files to indicate their scale of collection and data source, These
data flags will become increasingly useful as DFIRM-DLC studies are published and
revised, allowing users to identify corresponding backup data for streams, to
identify potential streams for restudy, etc. In addition, this information
directly supports the requirements for identification of data quality for Spatial
Data Transfer Standards.

The parameter codes would be in the form of two two-digit codes for each entity.
These maj or codes for the four data categories are reserved for this use as
follows:

Political Areas
Map Panel Areas
FEMA Hydrography
Flood Hazard Zones

The minor codes would be the S~ll1e for all data categQt"~.es and would use the

It is recommended that these codes be applied as data is collected, if it is
feasible and not cost prohibitive to do so. These codes are not mandatory at
