Therefore, the existing practice <br />of the District is to maximize use of the surface water supplies. The <br />District is planning to construct new treatment facilities for the Big <br />Evans Gulch supply and probably also for the Iowa Gulch supply, These <br />facilities will not substantially alter the District's water diversion <br />capaci ty. <br />The estimated population presently being served by, the District <br />is about 7,000, Included in the table are estimates of water require- <br />ments for larger populations that may be served in the future, <br />Our concerns regarding future human development in Big Evans <br />Gulch and Iowa Gulch are twofold, First, any diversion of water that <br /> <br />A - 2 <br />
