) FPR 241 COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 721 State Centennial Building 1313 Sher~an Street Denver~ Colorado 80203 November 7, 1985 RES 0 L UTI 0 N WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of Rangely," which includes the White River and Dragoon Wash, dated December, 1977, was prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, under contract with the Federal Insurance Administration; and J WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the Town of Rangely, by Resolution No. 81 adopted November 23, 1977, approved and designat~d the floodplains described in said report; and WHEREAS, a new report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of Rangely, Rio Blanco County, Colorado," which includes 'floodplain information and data for the White River, College Canyon- Draw and Coal Mine Draw, dated September 27, 1985, has been prepared by Simons, Li and ~ssociates under contract to the Federal Emergency Management Agency; and WHEREAS, said new report describes and floodplain data and information for the storm runoff channels or basins of the study area; and outlines the and floodwater WHEREAS, the Town of Rangely has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the flood~lain areas as set forth in the aforesaid new report; and WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood da~ages therefrom; and 'WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that such legislative bodies of local jurisdic- tions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and 128 res/241
