In a letter dated
May 6, 1998, Mr, Michael A. Bartusek, P.E., Project Manager, Associated Design Professionals, Inc"
requested that FEMA revise the FIRM and PIS report to show the effects of construction along an unnamed
wash of a 37-acre-foot detention basin between South Street and Washington Street, a 42-inch
reinforced-concrete pipe culvert beneath South Street, and more detailed topographic information from
Elizabeth Street to High Street

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Mr, Michael L
Graber, P.E., Dam Safety Engineer, Water Division 2, Office of the State Engineer, State of Colorado;
Mr, Douglas J. Trieste, P.H., Flow Technologies; and Mr. Bartusek.

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM. We
have revised the FIRM to modify the floodplain boundary delineations of the flood having a I-percent
chance of being equaled or exceeded in any given year (base flood) along an unnamed wash from Elizabeth
Street to High Street. As a result of the modifications, the width of the Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA)
designated Zone A, the area that would be inundated by the base flood with no base flood elevations
determined, for the revised reach increased in some areas and decreased in other areas. The base flood
is contained within the detention facility and the natural chalUlel, and the increases in SFHA width are
contained within the detention facility , We also revised the corporate boundary of the City of Cafton City
shown on the FIRM in the vicinity of the revised reach to match the corporate boundary shown on a map
submitted by Mr. Robert W. Saulmon, City Engineer, City of Canon City, with a letter dated March 18,
1998. The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copy of FIRM Panel(s) 0335 B. This Letter
of Map Revision (LOMR) hereby revises. the above-referenced panel(s) of the effective FIRM dated
September 29, 1989,

Because this revision request also affects the City of Canon City, a separate LOMR for that community
was issued on the same date as this LOMR.

The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panel(s) as listed above and as
modified by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your community.
