A
diversion structure, sinoe washed out, was located at
the mouth of the canyon and any excess water in the
creek was diverted to the west. Water oolleoted by
this ditch runs in a southerly direction from a point
near the left bank of North Crestone Creek and
disoharges into Burnt Gulch. There are several 12 inoh
diameter CMP culverts in this ditoh whioh became
plugged during the August 19B7 flooding.

5.2 Measures to Reduce Vulnerability

In 1985, the CWCB delineated approximate 100-year
floodplain boundaries on North Crestone Creek, Burnt
Gulch, and South Crestone Creek.

The town has not adopted a floodplain management
ordinance.
