Dear Mr. McDonald:

According to the provisions of Title 30, Article 28, Section 111 of
the 1973 colorado Revised Statutes, Weld County is submitting this
request for designation by the Colorado Water Conservation Board of
the studies referenced above. In order for Weld County to continue
participating in the National Flood Insurance Program, we are
required to adopt a flood damage prevention ordinance by March 18.
1980. This ordinance must regulate all ox the floodway and floodprone
areas delineated on the Flood Insurance Administration maps. We
intend to regulate these areas through the use of our Zoning Ordinance.
Therefore, we are requesting the Colorado Water Conservation Board
to designate all of the floodprone and floodway areas on the Federal
Insurance Administration maps.
