<br />~ <br /> <br />'\ <br /> <br />FPR 248 <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />721 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />January 16, 1986 <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, floodplain inform<ltion report entitled "Floodplain <br />Information Report, Lake Fork of the Gunnison River and Henson <br />Creek," dated October, 1985, has been prepared by Westwater <br />Engineering, at the request of the Town of Lake City and the <br />Board of County Commissioners of Hinsdale County; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of LakE! City and the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Hinsdale County have requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 ( 1 ), Colorado Revised Statutes, <br />requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the <br />prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, C910rado Revised <br />Statutes, provide that such legislative bod1es, of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater r~noff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised: Statutes, <br />directs the Colorado Water Conse~vation Board to designate and <br />approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />708 <br />res/248 <br /> <br />) <br />
