1.5 UPDATING PROCEDURES

These Guidelines will be updated occasionally to revise the published infonnation when needed
and to make amendments as additional regression equations are completed. The updating process
will generally involve the CWCB staff, the Committee, and the CWCB Board of Directors (Board).
The CWCB staff will gather additional data, review the subregional boundaries and regression
equations, recommend revisions as needed, and create new regression equations for other basins in
Colorado. The Committee will review, discuss, and vote on any major changes that are proposed
for the Guidelines. Finally, The Board will be presented with major revisions or additions that are
proposed for approval. Comments and questions related to these Guidelines may be directed to:

Thomas W. Browning, P.E,
Colorado Water Conservation Board
Flood Control and Floodplain Management Section
1313 Shennan Street, Room 721
Denver, Colorado 80203
Fax # (303) 866-4474

1.6 REVISIONS

Version 1.0
Version 1.0 of the Guidelines was published in February 1996. Version 1.0 included two chapters:
Chapter 1 provided general background infonnation, and chapter 2 provided specific details
regarding the regression methodology for the Arkansas River Basin.

Version 2.0
Version 2,0 was published in October 1996 and included revisions to chapters I and 2, and
included new information for the South Platte River basin in chapter 3, The revisions to chapter I
were editorial in nature, and did not include any substantial changes to the content or methodology.
Revisions to chapter 2 included a change in the subbasin boundaries between the foothills areas and
the mountains areas. The new boundary definition between the foothills and mountains is based on
an elevation limit of generally 7,500 feet, except for in the northern part of the Arkansas Basin
where the boundaries were essentially unchanged. In addition, the regression equation for
subregion ARK-4b (foothills area to the east of Monument/Fountain Creeks) was changed to a
power equation in lieu of a linear equation,

Version 3.0
Version 3.0 was published in July 1997 and included revisions to chapters 2 and 3, and included
new information for the Republican River basin in chapter 4. The revisions to chapters 2 and 3
were minor, and did not in~lude any substantial changes to the content or methodology. Revisions
to chapter 3 included minor changes in the subbasin boundaries between the foothills subregions
and the mountains subregion.

7
