WHEREAS"a floodplain information report entitled "Flood
Hazard Area Delineation, Broomfield Area," dated June, 1979, has
been prepared by Wright-McLaughlin Engineers at the request of the
, Urban Drainage and Flood Control District,the city of Broomfield,
and the city of Westminster; and '

,WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the flood-
plain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff
channe1sor basins of the study area; and

WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District
has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate
and approve the flOOdplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid
report;' and

WHE~AS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado
Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of
lOcal jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses
,on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only
after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation
BOCird; and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised
Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to
designate and approve storm or ,floodwater runoff channels or basins
and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of
local jurisdictions; and

~OEREAS, the staff or ~e Boara nas reviewed said report
and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board
that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those
,areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood)
as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in
said report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water
Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver,
Colorado, this Sth day of December, 1979, that it does, hereby
