NO. 144 <br /> <br />'\ <br />, <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 state centennial Building, <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />DecemberS, 1979 <br />R E ~ 0 L' ~T X 0 N <br /> <br />WHEREAS"a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Area Delineation, Broomfield Area," dated June, 1979, has <br />been prepared by Wright-McLaughlin Engineers at the request of the <br />, Urban Drainage and Flood Control District,the city of Broomfield, <br />and the city of Westminster; and ' <br /> <br />,WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the flood- <br />plain data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channe1sor basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District <br />has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve the flOOdplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid <br />report;' and <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />WHE~AS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />lOcal jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />,on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />BOCird; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or ,floodwater runoff channels or basins <br />and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />~OEREAS, the staff or ~e Boara nas reviewed said report <br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />,areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br /> <br />\ <br />I <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, <br />Colorado, this Sth day of December, 1979, that it does, hereby <br />'-designate and approve as flOodplain areas those areas described <br />
