Box 349
Canon City, Colorado 81212

Dear Mr. Giordano:

with reference to your letter of 13 February, 1976 and the
copy of the administrative guidelines you submitted~ we have the
following comments:

1. We assume that the guidelines are limited to those
flood hazard districts that have been designated
and adopted as a part of the zoning resolution and
do not apply to flood hazard areas that have not
been designated and adopted.

2. Does the "flood control district" refer to a legally
formed district such as the Fremont County Flood
Control District? Or have you defined a flood con-
trol district in your regulation? If not, we suggest
you not use the term, but rather "flood hazard district"
which you also use. The term" floodplain district"
could be used in place of "flood hazard district" if
defined.

3. Other comments and suggested wording have been penciled
in on the attached copy of the guidelines,

or me.

If you have questions in this matter, please call Mr, Van Camp

Sincerely,

RONALD I, BLEWITT
Chief, Flood Control and
Conservation Section

RIB/ajt

Attachment
