county, we would like to advise you of mapping discrepancies
r~garding map~ prep~red by your firm. The line topographic maps,
at a scale of 1" = 200' with 2 foot contour intervals, were
checked by this board with field verification performed by f\\&1

Copies of If,&I consult.ing Engineers' milpping check and the
u. ::;. Nutional I~up [occuracy S:':'andards are enclosed. 'rhe Da't<,
S'lrrJJ\ary t.able gives a good summation of the checks, Further
examination of the checks showed that lines 1 and 5 are the worst
and that the errors are not consistent, there0y eliminating any
application of any uniform correction. Tile largest vertical errOr
found was 4.1 feet even allo-v/ing for a plus or 1".; flUS 10-foot
horizontal displacement.

These maps had many planne6 uses. On8 such use was for .the
floodplain st,ldies on the Arkansas River and tributari(;;... These
:.;t:udies <:u:c: r.c:edcd by the loci.ll goverrunent.s for 'the implementation
of floodphlin regulations to meet mandates issued by FEI'IA and
EPA, Therefore, it is essential that the lLlaps be corr8ct,ed expe-
ditiously SO t.he flOOdplain information and Canon city drainage
studies can remain on sd,edule.
