<br />~ <br /> <br />OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL <br />HOLLY FLOOD CONTROL PROJECT <br />HOLLY, COLORADO <br /> <br />PART I - GENERAL <br /> <br />CHAPTER I - INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />1-01 Authority. This manual is prepared and furnished pursuant to ER <br />1130-2-304, Project Operations, and Title 33, Navigation and Navigable <br />Waters, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 208, Flood Control Regulations, <br />Section 208.10, Local Flood Control Works; Maintenance and Operation of <br />Structures and Facilities. <br /> <br />.1-02 Purpose. This manual provides basic guidance and instructions to the <br />Holly Flood Control, Drainage and Sanitation District of Prowers County, <br />Colorado, the project sponsor, for proper operation and maintenance of the <br />Holly Flood Control Project. <br /> <br />1-03 Parts of Manual. The manual is composed of two parts: <br /> <br />a. Part 1 - GENERAL, provides information about the manual and <br />describes the project. <br /> <br />b. <br />the major <br />operation <br /> <br />Part II - OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE, presents <br />project facilities and basic instructions for <br />and maintenance. <br /> <br />brief descriptions of <br />their proper <br /> <br />1-04 SCOPE OF MANUAL. This manual contains only basic essential operation <br />and maintenance instructions. It is written for personnel assigned to the <br />project who should familiarize themselves with its contents, frequently read <br />it to maintain familiarity and refer to it during times of emergency or when <br />there is any question about proper operation and maintenance. <br /> <br />CHAPTER 2 - PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> <br />2-01 Authorization. The Holly, Colorado, Flood Control Project was <br />authorized for construction by the Chief of Engineers under provisions of <br />Section 205 of the 1948 Flood Control Act, Public Law 87-874, as amended. <br /> <br />2-02 Location. <br />on the east bank <br />River. <br /> <br />The project is located at Holly, Prowers County, Colorado, <br />of Wild Horse Creek and the north bank of the Arkansas <br /> <br />1 <br />
