<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />APPENDIX <br /> <br />WATER CONSERVATION AND WATER USE EFFICIENCY MEASURES <br /> <br />AUDITS - Programs designed to assist residential, commercial or irrigation customers in <br />identifying areas of water waste and provide a means to reduce water consumption. <br /> <br />COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL WATER CONSERVATION - Educational, incentive or audit <br />programs designed to reduce water consumption for commercial and industrial water customers. <br /> <br />EVAPOTRANSPIRATION (El) - Programs designed to determine evapotranspiration (El) rates <br />of turfgrass for specific regions of Colorado. Programs typically include promotion and public <br />education to encourage use of ET by customers. <br /> <br />LAWN SIZE RESTRICTIONS - Regulations or guidelines limiting the area of high-water <br />demand landscaping; generally applicable to new landscaping. <br /> <br />LAWN WATERING EDUCATION - Educational programs to assist customers in optimizing <br />lawn and landscape water applications. <br /> <br />LEAK DETECTION - Any program designed to locate and repair or reduce water loss from <br />leaks in the water distribution system. <br /> <br />NON-POTABLE REUSE/RECLAMATION - The utilization of treated waste water and/or use <br />of untreated raw or natural waters; generally applicable for irrigation purposes. <br /> <br />OPEN SPACE IRRIGATION MANAGEMENT - Educational programs or application of <br />management techniques specifically, designed to reduce water use on open space and public lands. <br /> <br />PRICING INCENTIVES - Any water rate structure, ,such as graduated rates, increasing block <br />rates or seasonal pricing, which promotes lower water consumption. <br /> <br />PUBLIC INFORMATION/EDUCATION - Educational efforts which increase awareness of <br />general water use and water conservation techniques. <br /> <br />REBATE PROGRAM - Programs designed with built-in incentives for water users which <br />encourage adoption of water conservation methods. Rebate programs generally involve plumbing <br />fixtures such as ultra low volume toilets or showerheads. <br />
