<br />As a precursor to the FLO-20 model, extensive modifications <br />were made to the OHM routing algorit:hm. Eventually an entirely new <br />model evolved which was approximatElly three times larger than the <br />original model yet required less than a fifth of the computer run <br />time. Virtually all that remains of the original OHM model in <br />FLO-20 is the central difference, fini'te di.fference concept. FLO- <br />20 has a new time incrementingjdecrementing scheme, inherent <br />stability criteria, and it reports on mass conservation" Further, <br />FLO-2D has new components and subroutines which contribute to its <br />expanded flexibility and accuracy i.n simulating alluvial fan flows. <br />Some of these attributes are described in Chapter V. <br /> <br />3 <br />
