Attachment #20

INTERMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE

In between the press releases that introduce the Interagency
Hazard Mitigation Team and Team concepts and the final press
release that announces the completion of the IA Report, it would
be worthwhile to prepare a second press release that mentions the
following:

A summary of the disaster to date:

A Brief re-introduction to mitigation and the IA
Team;

What the Team is investigating and what mitigation
opportunities have been uncovered, (mention local
moratoriums ~r reconstruction, etc.);

The cooperation and support received from local
governments along with some favorable statements
from SHMC or local spokesperson;

When the Report will be released, and who will be
receiving copies and how to get copies; and,

Advise residents to avoid activity in the floodplain
until the Team has had time to formulate its
recommendations and release its Report.
