<br />. <br /> <br /> <br />Attacnment #6 <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />Region VIII Denver Federal Center, Building 710 Denver, CO 80225 <br /> <br />: <br /> <br />June 17, 19B3 <br /> <br />Mr. John F i1 son <br />Chief Office of Earthquakes, <br />Volcanoes and Engineers <br />United States Geological Services <br />National Center-MS905 <br />Reston, Virginia 22092 <br /> <br />Dear Mr. Filson: <br /> <br />FEMA-6S0-DR-UTAH <br />Declaration Date: 04-30-B3 <br />R-USGS-1 <br />Geotechnical/En9ineerin9 Support <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />The President on April 30, 1983, declared a major disaster to exist in <br />the State of Utah as a result of severe storms, landslides, and flooding. <br /> <br />Pursuant to the provisions of Public law 2BB, 93rd Con9ress (hereinafter <br />called the Act); Executive Order 11795, and Title 44, Code of Federal Regu- <br />lations, Part 205 (Federal Disaster Assistance) and 44 CFR Part 205 <br />(Reimbursement of Other Federal Agencies under Public law 93-288), your <br />agency is hereby directed to provide the following: <br /> <br />Conduct preliminary studies related to providing advice to the <br />State of Utah and FEMA on debris flow and landslides primarily <br />on the Wasatch front. <br /> <br />If possible, develop specific options to mitigate the potential <br />hazards associated with each of them. <br /> <br />Reimbursement for expenses incurred in complying with this request shall be <br />in accordance with Section 307 of the Act, 44 CFR, Part 205, "Reimbursement <br />Regulations." Initially,' a sum not to exceed twenty thousand ($20,000) is <br />being reserved to cover your agency's expenses incurred in complying with <br />the above request. If your agency's expenses should exceed the above amount <br />please advise our office by phone and/or letter, Additional delegations may <br />be made by amendment to this assignment. <br /> <br />Requests for reimbursement (SF-lOBO or SF-I081) must be submitted to this <br />office in accordance with Section 205.153 of the above cited Regulations, <br /> <br />All financial records, supporting documents, statistical records and other <br />records pertinent to the assignment shall be retained and shall be accessible <br />to duly authorized representatives of FEMA and the U,S, Comptroller General <br />for the purpose of making audits, excerpts, and transcripts for a period of <br />three years starting from the date of submission of the final billing. <br /> <br />.1 <br />, <br />
