First, most <br />North Dakota disasters requiring outside assistance are f1ood- <br />related, Hanson's background as an engineer with the SWC is <br />most helpful in this case. <br /> <br />Second, Hanson has experience in hazard mitigation, <br />Specifically, he has been directly involved in the production <br />of two hazard mitigation plans developed as the result of major <br />presidential declarations after spring flooding in North Dakota <br />in 1979 and 1982. <br /> <br />Third, Hanson has valuable experience in the total damage <br />assessment process which is very helpful, not only in disaster <br />recovery operations, but also in planning for mitigation, <br /> <br />RDAlar <br /> <br />cc: Dave Sprynczynatyk.
