<br />-i <br /> <br />E. <br /> <br />Contact the State Hazard Mitigation Coordinator and <br /> <br />. <br />i <br /> <br />discuss his/her role and responsibilities, <br /> <br />The role of the State Hazard Mitigation Coordinator is to <br /> <br />coordinate State and local hazard mitigation efforts, <br /> <br />solicit input from State and local governments for the <br /> <br />Interagency Report, and represent State and local <br /> <br />government interests on the Team, The State Hazard <br /> <br />Mitigation Coordinator can accomplish many activities <br /> <br />prior to a Declaration and arrival of the Team at the <br /> <br />disaster site (Attachment #5), <br /> <br />F, Coordinate with the Preliminary Damage Assessment (PDA) <br /> <br />'I ) <br />Team(s Leader. <br /> <br />The Federal Agency representatives who participate on the <br /> <br />FEMA/State Preliminary Damage Assessment Team should, if <br /> <br />at all possible, also represent those same Federal <br /> <br />Agencies on the Interagency Hazard Mitigation Team, At <br /> <br /> <br />the time a PDA is conducted, an Advance Hazard Mitigation <br /> <br /> <br />Team comprised of the Team Leader (or assistant), the <br /> <br /> <br />USACE representative, the State Hazard Mitigation <br /> <br />Coordinator, and any State Hazard Mitigation Team should <br /> <br />survey the impacted area with the PDA Team(s) and <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />identify locations or facilities that potentially present <br />the greatest opportunity for mitigation, Generally, <br />these will be in the areas that are the most heavily <br />
