In a letter dated
March 4, 2002, Mr. Bruce Beach, P.E., Chief, Hydrology and Hydraulics Section, US. Army Corps of
Engineers, Albuquerque District, requested, on behalf of the City of Florence, that FEMA revise the FIRM
and FIS report to spow the effects of improved hydrologic and hydraulic modeling that incorporated more
detailed topographiC information along Oak Creek from approximately 100 feet upstream of the Atchison,
Topeka & Santa Fe Railway (AT &SF) bridge crossing (approximately 5,500 feet upstream of the First
Street crossing) upstream approximately 4,300 feet to the Town of Williamsburg corporate boundary,

Additional modeling was performed within the Town of Williamsburg along Oak Creek from the corporate
boundary upstream approximately 3,000 feet to approximately 550 feet upstream of the Quincy Street
crossing. The flood hazard data shown on this area of the FIRM is for information purposes only.

All data required to complete our review of this request were submitted with letters from Mr. Beach.
Because this Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) is based on a detailed hydrologic or hydraulic study
conducted by a Federal, State, or local agency to replace an approximate study conducted by FEMA and
shown on the flood map, fees were not assessed for the review.

We have completed our review of the submitted data and the flood data shown on the effective FIRM and
in the effective FIS report, We have revised the FIRM and FIS report to modify the elevations, floodplain
boundary delineations, and zone designations of the flood having a I-percent chance of being equaled or
exceeded in any given year (base flood) along Oak Creek from approximately 100 feet upstream of the
AT&SF bridge to the Town of Williamsburg corporate boundary. As a result of the modifications, Base
Flood Elevations (BFEs) for Oak Creek were established, and the width of the Special Flood Hazard Area
(SFHA), the area that would be inundated by the base flood, increased in some areas and decreased in
other areas, The modifications are shown on the enclosed annotated copies of FIRM Panel 0342 C, Profile
Panels 6P(b) and 6P(c), and affected portions of the Summary of Discharges Table, This LOMR hereby
revises the above-referenced panel of the effective FIRM and the affected portions of the FIS report, both
dated March 17, 2002,

The modifications are effective as of the date shown above. The map panel listed above and as modified
by this letter will be used for all flood insurance policies and renewals issued for your community,
