That issue and the issue of appropriate additional requirements for
flood prone prClperties being annexed into Fairplay will be
addressea shortl1; as it is critical in a town facing new development
that those requirements be in place and be enforced.

River Restoration

Finally the town was encouraged to visit the Town of Breckenridge
to learn as much as possible about the restoration of the Blue
River. Fairplay is considering some kind of restoration of their river,
and it would be both easy and instructive to drive over Hoosier
Pass to see an actual restoration project.

Proposed Desi!:mation Action

The current designation action will address two existing maps. The
approximate information for the Middle Fork of the South Platte
River, as shown on the 1986 Fairplay FIRM, will be proposed for
designation as approximate floodplain information. The
approximate information for Beaver Creek, as shown on part of the
1977 Park County FHBM, will also be proposed for designation as
approximate floodplain information.

Recommendations for Floodplain Mappina

The following recommendations were made with regard to
floodplain mapping to be performed as part of the ongoing master
drainage plan work:
