River Restoration Finally the town was encouraged to visit the Town of Breckenridge to learn as much as possible about the restoration of the Blue River. Fairplay is considering some kind of restoration of their river, and it would be both easy and instructive to drive over Hoosier Pass to see an actual restoration project. Proposed Desianation Action The current designation action will address two existing maps. The approximate information for the Middle Fork of the South Platte River, as shown on the 1986 Fairplay FIRM, will be proposed for designation as approximate floodplain information. The approximate information for Beaver Creek, as shown on part of the 1977 Park County FHBM, will also be proposed for designation as approximate floodplain information. Recommendations for Floodplain Mappina The following recommendations were made with regard to floodplain mapping to be performed as part of the ongoing master drainage plan work: 1) Approximate floodplain mapping for the Middle Fork of the South Platte River will be sufficient; 2) Detailed floodplain mapping will be prepared for Beaver Creek within the current corporate limits; 3) Either detailed or approximate floodplain mapping could be prepared for Beaver Creek from the current downstream corporate limits downstream to the confluence with the river (perhaps detailed mapping should be performed by any developers); 4) Approximate floodplain mapping should be prepared for Beaver Creek from the current upstream corporate limits upstream to the flow split in Section 28.
